Fashion week is in full swing and the sun was shining for a busy Saturday at Somerset House! The cold weather didn’t deter the crowds and the courtyard was jam-packed with a plethora of characters and outfits that were camera-ready for the hoards of vying photographers.
The EJS team headed down in the morning sun for a brief wander around which quickly ended up in us being stopped in our tracks by the groups of photographers and cameramen who were taken with our matchy-matchy Emma J Shipley printed outfits! Amelia struck a pose in the cobalt blue long Amazon kimono which stood out perfectly in the sunshine and caught the attention of the crowds.
Previewing the yet-to-be-launched resort wear collection, Emma paired the Amazon silk t-shirt with the matching wide-leg black trousers in our signature jungle-inspired print which has been reworked for Autumn/Winter 2015. We absolutely love the simple shapes and all-over print of the pieces, which seemed to go down a hit with the courtyard revellers…
One of the best parts of fashion week is being able to catch up with some of the brand’s fellow designer friends and seeing what they’ve been busy creating for the upcoming season. Fine jewellery designer Tomasz Donocik swung by the showroom to model the charcoal coloured Jaguar scarf and fill us in on all the happenings from the Rock Vault rooms downstairs, where Tomasz was previewing his collection.
We payed back the favour by popping down to view his collection of intricate jewellery, featuring Tomasz’s signature stars in jaw-dropping designs. The collection was beautifully displayed in the glass cabinets of the Rock Vault showroom and his twinkling pieces stood out magnificently. We suggest you check out more of Tomasz’s amazing jewellery!
As the afternoon became the evening, more visitors came by to our little printed haven to see the new pieces and pick their favourite to try on. One of the youngest fans of the brand looked thrilled to be modelling the brand new Extinct design in sheer pink silk - so much so that we weren’t sure whether she was going to give it back…! It was lovely to catch up with blogger and long-time Emma J Shipley supporter Jai'me Jan, who gave everyone a lesson in dapper dressing with his checkered suit and oh-so-fabulous faux fur coat!
As day two grew to a close we’re excited about the remaining duration of London Fashion Week and sharing it here on the blog. Watch this space!
