Unique art of a certain size

The ING Discerning Eye exhibition is unlike any other. Each year a different panel of selectors curate this show of small works; each choosing work independently. This year the selectors are a dynamic group including two artists; Emma Bridgewater, Nicole Farhi, two collectors; Larry Lamb, Stephen Doherty and two critics; Steve Pill and Stephen Snoddy.

'Miniature relief', Greg Gilbert.

'December morning', Alison Conlon.

Each selector has curated their own section of the exhibition, choosing artwork from artists they'd personally invited to participate in the show, alongside an open call. The result is a unique and varied display of paintings, prints, sculptures, drawings and photographs in six distinct collections.

Fashion designer and sculptor Nicole Farhi sees the exhibition as an opportunity to support upcoming artists: 'After so many years spent supervising young Fashion Designers, I was at last able to support young emerging artists. I was going to be able to use not my experience as a designer but instead my instinct and gut feeling about art'. We love this approach and recommend taking a look yourself to see if you agree...
