A festival of pattern with PATTERNITY

A festival of pattern with PATTERNITY

With the capital becoming a hub for all things fashion and design in the next week, there's almost too much to choose from! We'll certainly be checking out all the happenings at London Fashion Week, as well as getting our design fix at the London Design Festival. But first, we headed to the opening of PATTERNITY's Festival of Pattern down the road in Shoreditch.

PATTERNITY was founded in 2009 by Anna Murray and Grace Winteringham, and has since gained a cult following for its inspiring celebration of the patterns all around us. Fast forward to 2015, and the brand is launching its first book; PATTERNITY: A New Way of Seeing, and hosting a pattern festival to celebrate. They hope to bring the key themes, patterns and specialists featured in the book to life; with exhibits, events and experiences over the course of the five-day festival.

Some of the highlights over the next few days are a Hands-On-Pattern workshop, including pattern-spotting as well as a screen printing session, a roundtable discussion focussing on positively shaping the future of fashion and an immersive sound night exploring universal frequencies, featuring native instruments from Colombia.

A selection of PATTERNITY's most notable collaborations are also on show at the event, plus limited-edition prints and special volumes of the new book, all available to purchase.

Head down to Redchurch Street and be inspired by pattern in all its forms - and don't forget to check out the Collaborative Store right next door while you're there - the new pop-up selling our scarves until the end of September.
