Emma J ShipleyAs one year comes to an end and we start to think about 2016, it's a great chance to reflect on our adventures and achievements from 2015 and take a moment to really appreciate all that happened.
Join us as we count down our favourite memories from an exciting and busy year.
10. Stylist Live
Four days of fashion, food, beauty and catwalks? Yes please. We loved being part of the first Stylist Live event along side other creative artists and designer brands. The show also featured a variety of talks, workshops, shows and beauty bars. We were delighted with our customers' reaction as we displayed the Star Wars collection for the first time.
This year's exhibition was a highlight for both the V&A and us. We enjoyed a private dinner and tour of the exhibition, hosted by Nadja Swarovski, and featuring stand out pieces from every McQueen collection, including some of his earliest dresses made from shredded lace, plastics and PVC. The show was a fitting tribute to the late fashion designer, not to mention hugely inspirational.
We were excited to be featured in Elle magazine twice this year and again on ElleUK.com. It's wonderful to see our designs alongside designers we admire and in one of our favourite magazines!
7. Weaving in Italy with Avery Dennison RBIS
We had the chance to visit the province of Ascoli Piceno in Italy thanks to Avery Dennison, to trial some of our designs on the latest HD weaving technology. It's inspiring to see the possibilities available in weaving now and hope to bring you some new woven products in the future. Watch this space!
Visiting the French capital is a definite highlight each year. We enjoyed filling up on croissant, café and Champagne, immersing ourselves in the new collections from many talented designers (& showcasing our own) and catching up with old friends.
5. Sienna Miller wears our Swarovski collaboration
It's always a huge compliment when someone you admire wears your work, so we were delighted to see Sienna looking dazzling wearing the Atelier Swarovski x Emma J Shipley Leo bracelet on the red carpet this year in Cannes.
With the new option to showcase videos on our website, we jumped at the chance to create our first film showcasing the Constellation design. Watch the drawing come to life and get an insight into the creative process right here in the studio.
3. The Guardian and UPS Trade Mission
In March we were lucky enough to visit Atlanta, USA on a business trade mission awarded by the Guardian and UPS. The trip gave us the opportunity to forge new contacts and gain a better understanding of the US market, which includes basketball games as market research.
July saw us launch our brand new website and shiny e-commerce shop, featuring films, gallery space for drawings and our beloved blog. We're looking forward to watching it grow over the coming year.
1. STAR WARS!
Saving the best for last, our collaboration with Disney's Star Wars has been an amazing union and brought as much delight to us as it did to the die-hard fans (and Daisy Ridley a.k.a. Rey)! We're off to watch The Force Awakens for the 3rd time this week...
