It's fashion season once again (how does it come around so quickly?) which means the Emma J Shipley team set up showroom down at Somerset House for 11 manic days of London Fashion Week and Weekend! This year was particularly special as we launched our collaboration with Disney on a magical Tinker Bell scarf collection, alongside the debut line of Emma J Shipley ready-to-wear, both of which will go in to stores for Spring/Summer '15!
Our colourful showroom was adorned with metallic hand-painted succulents that brought alive the Tinker Bell magic for our steady stream of visitors. The collaboration with Disney saw Emma draw a beautifully intricate Tinker Bell design, illustrating her own version of Tinker Bell's world of make believe. Skull Rock and Big Ben decorate the corners, with Peter Pan and the mermaids also playing their part in the design, which will come in classic silk, silk chiffon and modal and cashmere blend scarves, all in a variety of colours.

Spring/Summer 2015 is not just about Disney, as our new collection of printed womenswear will also be hitting stores internationally. With a nod to luxury resort wear, the collection features luxurious sheer silk kaftans printed with some of Emma's signature designs reworked into bold colours. The silk cotton oversized shirts proved to be a popular hit due to their easy modern appeal (even a few men were keen to try them on) and we're hoping the wide-leg silk trousers will be whisked away in suitcases to some of the most glamorous holiday destinations next year...
The entire collection is now available to pre-order online with 30% off, and you'll receive the items before anyone else! Shop the new pieces now.
There were plenty of other designers debuting their exciting SS15 collections at Somerset House this season, including the milliner Piers Atkinson with his wildly imaginative floral hats and headpieces, inspired by the gardens at Port Eliot in Cornwall. The collection, entitled 'The Garden of Earthly Delights' transformed his showroom into a explosion of flowers, beaded veils and bumble bees.
Lily Kamper has swiftly made a name for herself in the world of jewellery (as well as being featured in this month's Vogue!) with her directional hand-carved perspex and metal jewellery. It was great to catch up with Lily and admire her new eye-poppingly exquisite collection of necklaces, rings and more.
As quickly as London Fashion Week ended, we were back at Somerset House setting up for London Fashion Weekend - the huge designer shopping event that takes place twice a year and is full of amazing labels offering tempting discounts. It's always a great opportunity for us to meet Emma J Shipley fans (old and new!) and sell a massive selection of scarves, limited edition prints, womenswear, scarf rings and tote bags. This year was more popular than ever and we were rushed off our feet for four days of Somerset House madness!
Over in the Luxe Lounge, an exclusively created Emma J Shipley shoppable video was being played, which allowed customers to tap the scarves featured in the Polar Collection film and purchase them online there and then...
Once again we were lucky to be surrounded by such a great mix of designers, with a few familiar faces such as the lovely girls from Finchittida Finch. Their high-neck chokers, body harnesses and regal gold and black crowns went down a storm with the LFWEND crowd, we recommend you take a look at more of their work here.
Thursday night was Fashion's First Night and so we threw a little champagne reception for lots of thirsty shoppers to come and rifle through our bargain boxes and discover some past season favourites, such as the much-loved Silverback design which always proves popular.
All in all, we love the opportunity to interact with our customers at London Fashion Weekend and it topped off a great season at Somerset House! Keep an eye on all our social media feeds for updates from Paris, where we're heading off to next to finish the season in style...
Au revoir!
